Gravitrax Marble Run System for Kids at Toy Universe

In the world of Construction Toys, Ravensburger is not necessarily the first company you think of, but that may be all about to change thanks to its fantastic new range of Gravitrax products that are now available in Australia.

The Gravitrax range is a great game for the thinking kid. It harnesses STEM, Creativity, Construction, Speed and Fun to create an entirely new Marble Run game in 3D! The Gravitax range is designed for ages 8 - 99 plus and we can easily see the grandparents and parents spending hours with your child as they plan and create a track of their design.

The easiest way to get started with the Gravitrax Construction Toy is with the aptly named “Starter Set” which will set you back about $80.00. This gives your child over 100 pieces of the Gravitrax system to work with. You can then add as many expansion kits as you need to create a new high-speed large marble run as your child's skills increase. There are 5 expansion kits ranging in price from $14.99 to $27.99. The expansion packs add a whole new element to your track but are not essential to get started.

Once you have chosen your kit, we would go to your favourite of the Apple or Android stores and download the free App from Ravensburger, just search “Gravitrax App”. Did we mention this highly rated App is free. The App is an essential tool to assist in getting the most from your Gravitrax system, it contains hundreds of ideas, instruction on what each pack does, a place to test your design before going through the construction process and heaps more. It will really help you and your child get the most out of their Gravitrax Construction Toy.

Once the plans for your Gravitrax design have passed the App test, it’s time to start building, after all, it is a construction toy, and this is where the real fun begins.

Thinking in 3 dimensions takes a certain amount of practice, but once you think it through, the track is very easy to assemble, but it will take time to get it right. Using the base plates as your construction platform, you simply stack the cardboard height tiles to the desired heights, once in place you can add the plastic tracks, mix in any of the expansion packs you might have and like magic, you have created a giant 3 dimensional marble run.

Building your Gravitrax system is only half the fun, unlike many construction toys the other half of the fun is in playing with your track and seeing how the amazing STEM features come into play to make your truly unique Marble Run perform under test conditions.

Heading to the LaunchPad can be a nervous time for any young builder, questions will flood their mind, Will my design work? Will I get a good time for this run? Will the Expansion Kit Loop stop my Marble in its tracks? How does the Expansion pack Magnetic Cannon work? Will the Expansion Pack Hammer give me the boost of speed I need? Should I have made it taller, wider or longer? Well, there is only one way to find out, it’s time for LAUNCH!

Gravitrax Expansion Hammer

As the steel marble thunders down the track, the smile widens as it takes each bend and flys through the loop, but the pace is a little slow, it’s time to drop the hammer and come home strong, what was your time? Did you beat your mate? How can you build an even faster track? Push yourself to new heights with a whole new design you can test on the App before rebuilding.

If your child loves Construction Toys, Marble Run, or just figuring out how things work, then Gravitrax is a great option that will challenge, entertain and educate, time and time again all without batteries.
